Ice Creamusume has had alot of publicity lately, and thanks to that they've from #20 on the charts all the way to #11! Congrats Ices~
With their rising popularity, I've finally decided to sit down and do a track-by-track reveiw. I still stink at these but practice makes perfect xD
I got a paper cut, making it hard to type. Sorry for silly spelling/grammar mistakes D:
1) Lian Ai Deng Chang - I have to say, I thought maybe they'd all have cute voices, but they're REALLY SINGING. Its catchy, and its poppy, and ShenShen has a solo line. <3 She's pretty good x3
2) Zao An Ka Fei - Morning Coffee, eh? When they say coffee, it sounds more like cafe. I guess thats just the Chinese pronounciation. The new arrangment is nice, it makes the song more modern and actually alot nicer to listen to. The first person who's singing during the bridge has an... umm... interesting voice. I don't think she could hear herself during the recording session. I'll have to work on matching voices and faces later xD
3) Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? - The song in the album I've been anticipating the most. The Chinese name for it is Zai Mei You Yu Shui Zi Run De Zing Qui Shang Shi Wu Fa Fu Chu Ai De Ba? Wait, what? And I thought Ame no Furanai [...] was a long name! Well whatever, I love the song so much! And I kinda had a blonde moment while listening... as soon as the first chorus started I was like "OMGBBQ THATS JUNJUN'S LINE"
^^;
Guess it was kinda common sense to know that the song would 1) Be in Chinese and 2) Have JunLin's solo's in it.
I really like the arrangement, and I love when the drums come in. Drums always make songs better.
4) Lian Ai Ge Ming 21 - One thing: why didn't they take out the "Morning Musume" part? Thats all. RR21 is overdone so I was just like "Boring *skip*"
5) Go Girl ~Lian Ai Sheng Li~ - The other song I was anticipating the most, Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~ was the first Morning Musume song I ever heard, so this song has been near and dear to my heart. I love Chinese, its so pretty and I envy people who can speak it xD So yeah, I like this. Alot. There isn't any new arrangement, but thats fine.
6) Debut! ~Koi Suru Kado ni wa Fuku Kitaru~ - OK, so this sounds just like Lian Ai Deng Chang only in Japanese. SO WHY IS THERE A DIFFERENT TITLE? Ugh.
I like the Chinese version better.
7) Zao An Ka Fei (Japense Version) - OK, I like this so much better than the Chinese version. That first solo line... GOOSEBUMPS. The vocals are just so much better in this version, and it just sounds better in Japanese. I don't know why.
With both Lian Ai Ge Ming 21 and Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou? PV's due any day now, its exciting to see how well the album continues to sell, and once they start performing at the H!P concerts, I'll be able to match voices and faces :D
My copy of Morning Musume's new album COVER YOU came in the mail today... and just in time too! *cough*long story*cough*
I'm not going to reveiw track by track, I'm just going to praise and rant and post pictures and stuff.
So I was a little deperessed to find out that the limited editions had such a boring cover, only to be surprised that it was a cover jacket that the actual album is in! The album didn't have an obi like most releses, so I guess that brown cover counts as the obi...? Another odd thing I found was that there was no event card showing the upcoming events in H!P. (that or I haven't found it yet.)
The cover art is so lovely and amazing (not quite the Photoshopping skillz, more like the retro design) and I know everyone hates their outfits but I LOVE them! Maybe I've been spending too much time at a local vintage shop but I really like their clothes, so much that I would wear them in public if my local vintage store didn't sell clothing that smells funky ;3
Whenever I get an album the thing I look forward mostly to is looking at the booklet. This time I was bored and went ahead and read all the credits and something I found surprising was that JunJun and LinLin are actually the back up (instrumental) vocals for a few of the songs (obviously Aichan was in most of them). They do Dou ni Tomaranai and Pepper Keibu (with Takahashi).
I liked most of the songs except Pinponpan Taisou. Its just so... ugh. UGH. Koharu was in super hyper genki anime mode and it was just horrible. Koi no Dial 6700 was pretty good if you take out Koharu's 3 solos. Ugh I was so looking forward to that song and I was so happy when it started but then theres Koharu belting "Koi no telepone number 6700~" and it was just.. ew. Obviously she can't hit high notes and just yells louder to make up for that...
I was excited to hear the album versions of Pepper Keibu and Romance only to discover they just had some fancy stuff at the end thats not in the single. An extra 21 seconds on Pepper and 6 seconds on Romance. While I easily heard the extra part of Pepper (which was actually pretty cool), I can't recall what the new part of Romance was. And its 12am right now so I'm not going to bother to listen to it again.
But I did really like Nagisa no Sindibad, Shirou Chou no Samba, and Watashi no Aoi Tori. And it was interesting to hear the different arrangments of the songs when compaired to their origionals. I wonder if Dou ni Tomaranai on this album was the version Tsunku was planning to use for W before it got canceled, or if its a whole new arrangment and they trashed the W version.
OK BED TIME FOR ME xD
It seems like only yesterday we got news of a new Berryz Kobo album, and its already been released! I'm waiting for iTunes to get it, once again. >.< They haven't gotten Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance yet either.
I will only be reveiw the new songs :]
1) Happy! Stand Up // All
Such a great song as an opening. It's definatly one of my favorite, it has a funky tune and it's catchy. I'm happy that everyone got somewhat equal lines (Risako as usual has the most). This song will be so fun when it's performed live,
and I'm excited to see the choreography, especially during the kick butt guitar instrumental break.
2) Kono Yubi Tomare! // Tsugunaga Momoko, Tokunaga Chinami, Sudou Maasa
Maasa's only small group song in this album (everyone else gets two). It's really a shame, the song isn't all that good. I listened to this song alot to finally like it, but it really never clicked. Are those supposed to be trumpets playing? They sound nothing of the sort. They're so fake, and that was a definate turn-off for me. But ohmygosh Maasa is so good at high notes. And the guitar instrumental break is, once again, pretty kick butt.
3) Baka ni Shinai de // Shimizu Saki, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako
When I fist found out the tracklist, the first thing that popped into my head for this song was a song like Suki Sugite Baka Mitai, and it is. Berryz really should sing more rock, like Sayonara Hageshiki Koi and this one. They own it.
I do not like, however, how Risako stands out the most in the group parts. Risako has been the spotlight of Berryz for forever, and it's getting annoying. She's a lazy dancer and a mediocre singer. They'd mine as well make her the captain of BK rather than Saki.
4) Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance // All
---
5) Ah Merry-go-round // Shimizu Saki, Tsugunaga Momoko
Wow, Momoko did the monologue with a normal voice! GO MOMOKO! She
sounds so mature and her age in this song, and suprisingly her and Saki's voice blend amazingly well. NEW UNIT PLZ?
The R&B tune sounds awesome, but it reminds of INDIGO BLUE LOVE (from Morning Musume's Rainbow 7 album). To tell the truth, alot of the songs in this album reminded me of older H!P songs.
6) CLAP! // Tokunaga Chinami, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina
Like Kono Yubi Tomare!, the song really isn't very good. Yurina's voice doesn't fit the song so well. I do, however, like the chorus with the "o yeah yeah yeahs" and "oh la la la".
7) REAL LOVE // Sugaya Risako
OK, so, when I first found out that Risako has to have a solo, I was immediatly turned off. Like I said about Baka ni Shinai de, she's a lazy dancer and a mediocre singer.
See what I mean?
But she really has improved! Her voice is still nasely, but not as much.
The song rocks, it's alot like Ah Merry-go-round and the chorus is really good.
Risako can really belt out O.o
8) Yume wo Hitobutsu ~Berryz Kamen Ending Theme~ // All
Are those... harmonies I hear? Or are that just a really loud instrumental?
The song is cool, it sounds Russian and it sounds like the only solo lines are Maasa's. WOOHOO!
Too bad the song is so short.
9) Jingisukan // All
---
10) Tsukiatteru no ni Kataomoi // All
---
11) BE // All
Because every album needs a ballad ;D
Such a pretty song. Everyone singing together, no uneven line distrubution and little kids.
It's like a breath of fresh air after hearing all that bubblegum pop.
I can even imagine playing this song in band. Of course I never will, but its nice to imagine, right? :D
12) Special Generation (Eccentric Remix) // All
Without a doubt, this is the best remix of an H!P song ever. I like the drowned-out lines and then the perfectly clear ones. Theres even this really cool jazz part, I'm sure MorningBerryz will like that ;D

If this is a single, will there be a B-side? What could the PV possibly be like? Will they even bother making a PV? ARE WE SEEING AN ALL NEW MELON KINENBI?!
