So, while showing my sister the Naichau Kamo PV (because, you know, its just THAT epic) she started making a lot of comments. So I was like "What if... I wrote down her comments... and posted them in my blog?" (because, you know, I'm just SO dedicated to blogging).

The whole idea is that, as fans, we tend to forget about what we thought of Hello!Project when we first discovered them.

My sister (who actually just started her own blog. Layneh.Lolitas. Please welcome her to Vox :D) is the typical tween. Her favorite artists are the Jonas Brothers, Roonil Warzlib, Paramore, Draco and the Malfoys, Taylor Swift, and actually while I performed this experiment, she became a fan of Kusumi Koharu. She's been exposed to H!P a little bit, she liked Berryz Kobo for about a week. And she watched half of the Wonderful Hearts 2008 Winter concert with me.

I decided to show her some new PV's, also some somewhat new ones that I though she'd like. The PVs are Naichau Kamo (Morning Musume), VERY BEAUTY (Berryz Kobo), Sakura Chirari (C-ute), MADAYADE (Berryz Kobo), FOREVER LOVE (C-ute), Onna ni Sachi Are (Morning Musume), Tokaikko Junjou (C-ute), Hapi Hapi Sunday! (Kusumi Koharu), Kill me Kiss me (HANGRY & ANGRY), co no michi (Buono!), and Kanashimi Twilight (Morning Musume).

Here are her thoughts:

 

• The dance [in the beginning] is weird.
• The crying parts [for some members] look akward.
• Some of them should have looked at something else besides the camera.
• Ai, Aika, Risa, Koharu, and Eri look good.
• JunJun looks akward in the rain scenes, but her closeups look good.
• Reina is a good singer.
• Risa's nails look more like claws.
• Koharu is a good dancer.
• Rating: 7/10

 

 

• Outfits are pretty. Vintage = win.
• The beginning sounds like Pokemon.
• She likes Miyabi and Risako.
• They sound like kids but thats OK.
• Outdoor setting is pretty.
• The dance and the song are good.

• "Aww" (as soon as the PV started)

• But Chinami looks like a servant.

• Doesn't like the "turning around and smiling" part, its cheesy.

• The whole aspect is "interesting"

• The chains on their suits make them look like they're trying to be "gangsta"

• Just for fun, I asked her to guess who the Chinese members were. She pretty much guessed everyone but JunJun and LinLin.

• Likes Erika and Nakki.
• Likes Airi's singing, but not her outfit.

• Guitar playing is obviously fake.
• Green screen effects are cheesy.

• Loves Yossie's expressions, but overall Rika is better.

• "Are they homosexual?"
• Their nails are epic.
• Song is better than the PV

• The [road in the] begining is interesting.
• Walking scenes look akward & posed.
• "Why are they in Africa/Antartica/Hawaii/London/a farm?"
• "[In the Hawaii scene] the pointing is weird, and why did the tiki's fall from the sky?"
• Doesn't like the dance off.
• They are good singers.
• "Its weird and almost funny."
• Likes jump at the end.
• Rating: 6/10

 

• "So its got nothing to do with [the book] Twilight?"
• Likes Miki.
• Likes outfits, but they look like wannabe rockers.
• Doesn't like closeups or dress scenes.
• Yossie's hair reminds her of a guy.
• Just for fun, I tricked her and asked her if (once again) she could point out the Chinese member(s). She guess Reina.
• Rating: 6/10

 

 

So overall, Layneh gave them all high ratings (I need to teach her how to be more tough!). I've got some other ideas in store for her, so stay tuned. :D

The new PV's for Buono!'s co no michi and Kusumi Koharu's Hapi Hapi Sunday! make me have a little more faith in UFA now, as opposed to when I saw Ice Creamusume's debut PV.

Lets start with Hapi Hapi Sunday!, shall we? ;D

 

It starts off the same way Pa Pancake started off, with a TV, which is also the way Koi Kana started off (if I remember correctly >.<) Not only that, but its alot like Pa Pancake and Chance! because, once again, she's in a room with a bunch of stuff.

I like the beginning. Its... interesting... but cool. And, not only that, but Koharu seems to be working on making her voice *gasp* LESS SQUEEKY!

While I HATE her costume with the wings with a passion (its all furry...) I do love the casual outfit.

Obviously she's going on a date. On a Sunday. :D

Um so thats all I have to say about this song, other than the fact that those fairy wing things are FAIL.

 

Best for last! Buono!!

 

OK so when the PV first starts and you see the road, am I the only one who thought "Holy crap its Koi no Dance Site!"

Seriously. Am I the only one? GUYS?

They are REALLY good at high notes. Another reason Buono! is win.

I love the concept of "traveling the world". I know it all looks fake and obviously green-screened, but the style is unique and interesting. I think it looks like a scrapbook -- a bunch of pictures of certain places cut out and pasted onto one sheet of paper.

And.. high budget?! O.o 5 different costumes! THANK YOU UFA OR PONY CANYON OR WHOEVER DOES THESE PVS.

I think my only problem with the PV is just a little bit of my OCD saying "in the beach scene, they're walking slower than the background is moving."

And thats all.

OH HEY. Who saw Buono! live on Ameba last night? I kinda missed it. Like, I had the window up and figured them talking would wake me up, but instead I had one of those dreams where you think the sounds you hear in real life are actually just sounds in your dream. >.<

Another year, another concert! I always look forward to these, but this year Mari isn't MCing so... that kinda sucks ;_;

I can't wait to see the tracklist for the Elder Club concert, which I know must have some songs featuring Mari.

As for the big end concert, while I'm excited to see Ice Creamusume's debut, but I know I'll need a box of tissues watching the graduation.

 

1) Resonant Blue (All) - Well this is exciting, I just hope its not Ai and Reina being the only ones singing, expecially since its the opening and all...

2) LALALA Shiawase no Uta (All minus Shugo Chara Egg!) - Ugh >.> I suppose its good for getting the crowd excited but... c'mon.

3) Minna no Tamago (Shugo Chara Egg) -  This song's been sticking to me, so I'm alright with it.

 

4) Hapi☆Hapi Sunday (Kusumi Koharu) - *skips*

5) Tan Tan Taan! (MilkyWay) - The one Kirarin*Revolution song I can listen to without hating it. I'll probably watch for first few seconds and then move on, though...

6) FOREVER LOVE  (C-ute) -  Awesomeness. I just hope that the chorus is alright, because its horribly high pitched and must be hard to sing live.

 

7) Meguru Koi no Kisetsu (C-ute, Tanaka Reina and Mitsui Aika) - Alright... thats... interesting. AikaxReina lead would be cool though.

8) MADAYADE (Berryz Kobo) -  RISAKO. LIPSYNC. PLEASE.

She does so horribly at concerts.

Other than that, woot.

9) Koi no Jubaku (Shimizu Saki, Sudou Maasa, Kumai Yurina, Tokunaga Chinami, Sugaya Risako, Kamei Eri, Michishige Sayumi) - Whats up with the Momusu H!P Kids shuffle? Not that I have a problem, I love this song. Risako just better not ruin it.

 

Lalala-Sososo

10) Lalala-Sososo  (Mano Erina) -

I've started to like Manoeri's solo work, but its too bad there can't be a dance or a nice costume for this. Not exactly good concert material, Lucky Aura would have been better.

11) Rottara Rottara (Buono!) - If its Buono!, I'll love it.

 

12) Naichau Kamo (Morning Musume) - Epic costumes, first of all. I wonder if they're just substitute concert costumes for until the PV is released, or the real thing? Oh well, I can't wait. KAMO KAMO KAMO.

13) Mikan (Niigaki Risa, Kamei Eri, Michishige Sayumi, Kusumi Koharu, Mitsui Aika, JunJun, LinLin, Yajima Maimi, Sugaya Risako) - So... looking at who's singing I'm getting pretty excited until I come to the end and see... Risako -.-

And I'm gonna say this right now cause I think I know what you're thinking - I do not hate Risako, but lately her lives have been horrible. She's got amazing looks and can hit high notes with ease, but why does she always have to scream and look like she's in pain?

14) Jingisukan (All) Awesome. I'm getting bored with just Berryz singing it, so I'm excited.

15) Shiroi TOKYO (Nigaki Risa, Yajima Maimi, Tokunaga Chinami, Nakajima Saki, Hagiwara Mai, Mano Erina) - Yay :D Mano gets to sing more.

16) Natsu Doki Lip Stick (Yajima Maimi, Kikkawa Yuu, Maeda Yuuka, Fukada Kanon, Sekine Azusa, Ogawa Saki) - This sounds like a Maimi solo with Eggs as back-up. Eh.

But this isn't really a good winter song...

17) Baka ni Shinaide (Shimizu Saki, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Kumai Yurina, Sugaya Risako) - Mmkay. Alot of Berryz in this concert, amirite?

18) Mr.Moonlight ~Ai no Big Band~ (Takahashi Ai, Umeda Erika, Tokunaga Chinami, Nakajima Saki, Okai Chisato, Arihara Kanna, Saho Akari, Sekine Azusa) - AWESOME. But lets hope its not 100% Aichan, I want to hear Chisato too!

19) Soku Dakishimede (C-ute) - This is the best early C-ute song, its always so intense and awesome. And best of all -- it replaced Massara Blue Jeans!! Yes!

 

20) Gyagu 100kai bun Aishite Kudasai (Berryz Kobo) - Yay no Special Generation :DDD And last I remember its mostly Momoko ^^

21) Darling I LOVE YOU (Berryz Kobo, C-ute) - I've heard this song too much. But hey, its newer than Massara Blue Jeans and Special Generation.

22) Take off is now! (Takahashi Ai, Nigaki Risa, Tanaka Reina) - Never heard this but I know its gonna be in the new album (or at least I'm pretty sure ^^;) so YAY!

23) Renai Revolution 21 (Morning Musume) - Better than LOVE Machine.

24) Guru Guru JUMP (All) - Another song from the new album, woot.

25) Ame no Furanai Hoshi de wa Aisenai Darou (All) - Finally more LinLin love. She isn't in a single shuffle this concert. And of course I'm happy JunJun is there too <3 And maybe this time more solos for the others?

26) Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~ (All) - This was the first Momusu song I ever heard, so I love it. I haven't seen it in concerts much so yay x3 I'm guessing groups of singers are distinguished by colors?

I totally recommend you watch Alo-Hello 3. There are some parts I left out and its seriously a great DVD. These girls could totally advertise Hawaii and people would start visiting by the masses. Also, the DVD is very relaxing and cute. I watched this in the midst of a panic attack and enjoyed it very much ^^

Last night, I looked back at 2008 and now, today, I'll be predicting 2009. In this post, I'll be sharing my predictions, and what I know will not happen but I wish it would. I'll be mentioning some of the same stuff I mentioned in my Elder Club graduation post.

 

Predictions

• Takahashi Ai graduates from Morning Musume - becomes a soloist, PWNS Manoeri
• ELDER CLUB GRADUATES - For sure.
• Tsuji Nozomi becomes TV personality.
• Ogawa Makoto becomes TV personality.
• Matsuura Aya joins Avex. - And don't we all want it? She is so amazing.
• Okada Yui becomes gravure model. - Have you NOT seen her boobs?
• Melon Kinenbi join new agency. - They said they weren't disbanding after the graduation anyway.
• H!P Kids aren't kids anymore. - Have you seen Maimi?

 

Hopes

• Yaguchi Mari gets solo single - How many times have I mentioned I want her to release a solo single?
• Yaguchi Mari gets solo photobook - I'd buy it.
• Hangry & Angry make it big in the US - C'mon, their US debut was only available online? How dumb is that? International fans have to buy the Japanese stuff online, why can't they cut us some slack and have it available at Wal-Mart?
• Nakazawa Yuko gets married
• Konno Asami writes a book - Tell-all autobiography please!
• Takahashi Ai and Niigaki Risa graduate Morning Musume and form duo. - They'll be the new W and we'll get so sick of Pink Lady
• LinLin looses the ugly hairdo.

Best Group Single

C/C by High King has to be the best group single. Even the B side was worthy of being an A side it was so epic.

Best Soloist Single

Because I never fully listened to the entire Suppin Rock, I can't exactly say its the best soloist single. So as it was origionally a toss up between Nacchi's Screen and Ogamana's Suppin Rock, Nacchi wins.

Best Group Album

I liked COVER YOU. Alot. I even bought it. So even though there weren't any origional songs in it, COVER YOU by Morning Musume wins.

Best Soloist Album

Not a single soloist released an album with except Koharu. And... I don't like Koharu. So I'm leaving this blank.

Best PV

Screen. It was so pretty and artistic, and since I caught the photography bug, I really wanted to do some type of photoshoot on that set.

Group With Best Overall Releases

Buono!. Hands down. All their singles this year were full of win.

Best New Group (debuted in 2008)

MilkyWay. I can't stand Koharu but Yuu and Sayaka have good vocals. Sayaka reminds of myself actually ^^;

Best New Soloist (debuted in 2008)

Mano Erina. While I don't like her voice or her work, I have to say, she certainly is the "it" girl of Hello!Project right now.

Best Established Group (did not debut in 2008)

Of course I'm going to say Morning Musume.

Best Established Soloist (did not debut in 2008)

Abe Natsumi. I love her voice so much. Its like, soprano and alto AT THE SAME TIME.

Best Photobook

I don't look at the photobooks much, but I'm going to have to say Very Reina because looking at the scans I like all the clothes she wears :D And of course, Reina is very photogenic.

Chinami has gotten quite pretty this year. Also, her personality is very outgoing and I like it. (of course we all know that I think Mari is always the best idol)

Worst Group Single

LALALA Shiawase no Uta by C-ute. Its so repetitive and boring and bubblegum pop-ish.

Worst Soloist Single

Pa Pancake by Kusumi Koharu. WHO SINGS ABOUT PANCAKES?

Worst PV

Charisma Kirei by Melon Kinenbi. For goodness sakes they could have atleast made a PV instead of mashing together concert footage.

Worst Vocalist of 2008

Berryz Kobo's very own Sugaya Risako. Must I say more? Just watch the RisakoxAiri duet of VERY BEAUTY and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Least Attractive Girl of 2008

I honestly don't think theres a single girl in H!P who is not attractive in any way. They all have good personalities and if they don't have personalities they have looks. And if they don't have either... well I'm yet to find someone like that. 

With the economic crisis, upcoming election, and the entire Elder Club (minus the Ongaku Gatas Eggs) graduating in just 5 months, we all need something to make us feel warm and fuzzy. I found some cute Morning Musume pictures on Hello!Online, enjoy.

Oh. Oh please no.

OK, so yeah. The PV for Kusumi Koharu's 5th solo single Pa Pancake came out yesterday. The single will be released July 16.

And I hate it.

The God of all things good just threw up.

 

OK, so the PV starts out kinda like Koi Kana with the whole "dancing on TV" thing. Actually, I hate to admit it, but the instrumental intro is quite nice.

But the keleidascope thing. OMG ( O _____ o ) Wayyy too many Koharu's.

So she's dancing infront of this blindingly yellow background that kinda looks like its supposed to be a garden scene but no one really has TV's and lights in their garden. It actually reminds me alot of Chance! just because of all the random stuff laying around.

And why in the world is she pointing at the pancakes and acting like she's never eaten any in her life? I mean seriously, is syrup really that interesting? I mean seriously. If it were me, I'd glop syrup all over it and just eat it. I bet by the time she actually eats the pancakes, they'll be all soggy from the syrup and cold. 

OK, and how come its so hard to pull a wagon full of stuffed animals? Oh, I'm sorry, gardening equipment.

I understand that this is for a children's anime, but, how old is she? 15? I mean, will she keep doing this when she's 18? Kirarin Revolution can't go on that long, can it?

Its almost hard to remember this song is about pancakes. Would it really be that hard for them to film this inside a Waffle House or IHOP? Do they even have those in Japan? But really, I can just imagine her wearing a cute little apron, and instead of "eating" the pancakes infront of that disgusting yellow, there could be a nice little cafe backdrop. And then the dance shot can be her dancing ontop of a table.

 

So, overall I really do not like this release. Of course, my opinions could be a little biased as the people who got me into H!P are anti-Koharu.
