I always look forward to the Hello!Blog polls. Paul always seems to have a spiffy (yes, I said spiffy) new design and this year is totally different (and much harder!) as we have to rank our top 10, not just rank group members. Agh!
10) Ohtani Masae
Melon Kinenbi gets no attention, it bothers me. They have (in my opinion) the best vocals of Hello!Project, and I think Masae is right at the top. Her punky attitude and style is very appealing to me as well (lol).
9) Shimizu Saki
One of the most unappretiated members of Berryz Kobo, but she's my favorite. Actually, I switch between Saki and Maasa, and I'm in a Saki mood. She's a dancing prodigy and is so pretty.
8) Okai Chisato
The best singer in C-ute.
Thats right, I said it.
7) Yoshizawa Hitomi
Yossie reminds me of my best friend. Her split personality is really great, she's so funny as well. And her edgy style once again is very appealing to me :P
6) LinLin
In the beginning of this year, she wouldn't even be on this chart. But her singing has gotten so much better and I think she's starting to lay off the idol-ness.
5) Niigaki Risa
She can so outsing a majority of the Morning Musume members, and she's always happy, she kind of person I would want to be.
4) Kamei Eri
Her voice is so sweet, and she reminds me of myself. Quiet and reserved, but when given the chance, very fun to be around (well, I think I'm fun to be around...) :D
3) ShenShen
It's rare that a newcomer becomes my favorite so quikly. But ShenShen's singing is so great and I've liked her since the auditions.
2) JunJun
I do beleive LinLin is taking away JunJun's singing ability, as she's been... not so impresive lately. Keep being cute, JunJun, keep being cute.
1) Yaguchi Mari
Mari is an awesome singer. She can change her voice so many ways, and has always had an amazing vibrato. She's got an amazing personality, and who can resist that adorable laugh?
The first H!P blog I ever had.. was a news blog. I don't know, but I just really like reporting news. Haha so I'm going to do a weekly thing, summarizing everything that happened that week. But in the first edition I'm just going to summarize recent events. Starting from the oldest event that is news-worthy
Lady-Rise
Maki's back again, with another PV, but no single that can be bought :[ It's amazing, so listen to it.
Seishun Boku
SO. HAPPY. Mari's first ever solo single is a collaboration with Air Band, but she gets an entire solo song. She performed it on Quiz Hexagon and its awesome!
Kanna has bunions :[
Or hallax vulgis to be more specific. Poor girl. She won't be in C-ute's upcoming single Bye Bye Bye! (which has a B-side called Go Go Go! ....O.o) and, I think C-ute will stay 6nin for at least a year. Lets all hope and pray this doesn't end her career.
Buono! goes to... Sweden?
Yup. Sweden.
Buono! will be performing at the biggest anime convention in northern Europe, Stockholm Japan Expo. The expo will be May 22-24, and Buono! will be there on the last day.
Korean auditions take off!
The name of the Korean H!P auditions have been announced: Meet Tokyo Girl. Shimizu Saki and Yajima Maimi will be representing H!P and only one girl will be chosen (so I'll bet you they'll make her a Morning Musume member. I'll bet you.)
Speaking of Maimi...
Yajima Maimi has landed a role in a scary movie along with H!P Egg Fukuda Kanon. It's unknown what role both girls play, but the movie is called Fuju no Kaiden.
New unit? Frances & Aiko? WHAT?
When asked "So how young can idols really get?" UFA answers. Remember those little cuties from the Taiwan auditions? Well they appeared as back up dancers for Koharu and now they're getting their own unit. THEIR OWN UNIT. Frances is 8 and Aiko is 6. *is not interested*
A scandal that's actually scandalous
And guess who it is. No really. Guess.
Its Kago Ai. Again. And this time it's with a married man.
Gosh I don't even know what to think of her anymore.
Anyway, you can read the full article here: http://www.hello-online.org/index.php?act=helloonline&CODE=article&topic=761
Go Girl ~Koi no Victory~
Sneak peek of the Wonderful Hearts 2009 Winter ~Kakumei Gannen~ DVD is on Dohhh UP! now. Yes, this is H!P now.
:[
Well, at least the Eggs got to sing.
Whenever I open up Internet Explorer, several news blogs including H!O and Stardust are my home pages. And today, I almost started crying tears of joy when I visited Stardust.
Marippe Back in the Recording Studio!
I am so happy. I don't care if Quiz Hexagon is a cheesy show and that I've never heard of the guys she's collaborating with, because this is A YAGUCHI MARI SOLO SINGLE.
I make it no secret Mari is my favorite member, and my idol. I've been dreaming of this for so long, and to be honest I never thought it would happen. And definatly not this soon.
I suspect that, if I am right about her singing for Quiz Hexagon, that the song will be poppy. I don't think a ballad or something mature would fit a Japanese game show. But I may be wrong. Maybe she really is debuting fully as a soloist after the graduation (as this is schedualed to release sometime in March) and the guys she's collaborating with just happen to be with Quiz Hexagon.
OK so this is really confusing and I think at this point I'm just rambling. If anyone has anymore information, I'd love to hear it, and then I'll update this post.
Happy New Year everybody! Hope you all had an awesome 2008.
Last night, I looked back at 2008 and now, today, I'll be predicting 2009. In this post, I'll be sharing my predictions, and what I know will not happen but I wish it would. I'll be mentioning some of the same stuff I mentioned in my Elder Club graduation post.
Predictions
- Takahashi Ai graduates from Morning Musume - becomes a soloist, PWNS Manoeri
- ELDER CLUB GRADUATES - For sure.
- Tsuji Nozomi becomes TV personality.
- Ogawa Makoto becomes TV personality.
- Matsuura Aya joins Avex. - And don't we all want it? She is so amazing.
- Okada Yui becomes gravure model. - Have you NOT seen her boobs?
- Melon Kinenbi join new agency. - They said they weren't disbanding after the graduation anyway.
- H!P Kids aren't kids anymore. - Have you seen Maimi?
Hopes
- Yaguchi Mari gets solo single - How many times have I mentioned I want her to release a solo single?
- Yaguchi Mari gets solo photobook - I'd buy it.
- Hangry & Angry make it big in the US - C'mon, their US debut was only available online? How dumb is that? International fans have to buy the Japanese stuff online, why can't they cut us some slack and have it available at Wal-Mart?
- Nakazawa Yuko gets married
- Konno Asami writes a book - Tell-all autobiography please!
- Takahashi Ai and Niigaki Risa graduate Morning Musume and form duo. - They'll be the new W and we'll get so sick of Pink Lady
- LinLin looses the ugly hairdo.
- Kusumi Koharu stops being annoying.
Happy new year once again! Lets hope 2009 is a great year for Hello!Project.
Satoda Mai dominates when it comes to Engrish.
I was talking to my friend kiokiou and she suggested I start the Engrish T-shirt business back up, and it took me a while but here it is, the 4th installment of Engrish T-shirts! And this time I can promise at least one more.
Lets get started~
This is budding soloist Ogawa Mana's first appearence, congrats Ogamana!
You know, her outfit doesn't really look all that urban even though her shirt refers to "the streets".
Oh hai Mari, you're back!
I think there may be another word behind her bowl, but its impossible to make out what it says.
I bet she got this shirt at Victoria's Secret.
This is Momoko's first appearence here as well, and I have to congratulate on having the most Engrish shirt I've ever seen.
Chinami is always so bright and cheery, she certainly does make me happy ^^
Of course, Tsuji's famous DRUG DEALER shirt. I know theres an official picture somewhere but can't find it ^^;
Alright, thats all I have FOR NOW D:
Yaguchi Mari has a blog! Yaguchi Mari has a blog! Yaguchi Mari has a blogggg!!
When I logged onto Hello!Online today... I was shocked ^^; I don't make it a secret that the Gooch is my favorite member, but I never expected her to get a blog before she got a solo single. So this was really good news for me! I was reading the translations and noticed a pattern in the photo's she takes...
Have you noticed the pattern yet? xD I think its cute :3 Mari is such a natural beauty. She posted some pictures of her with no makeup in her blog and I just thought they were lovely <3 I expecially lover her ever-changing hairstyles. Especially the on above, thats like in a cute little twirly thing (xD).
And her blog isn't like other idol's. ("Today was cold. Everybody: try not to get sick! Keep trying hard" type idol blogs bother me). Of course it does have a hint of idol blog, but not as much. I'd say what blog I'm compairing to but I don't want to embarass Mano Erina :D
*cough*
Um yeah... so... hopefully Mari is having/had fun in Iceland with Nacchi and enjoying her time off.
PICSPAM TAIM. WEWT.
So this is what a real life dressing room looks like. Gosh... I'm a little dissapointed xD You'd expect dressing rooms to have lights all over the mirrors and beauty products scattered all over the tables... and they'd be colorful... like a green room. Haha ^^;
But that TV looks really cool.
Haha Mari finally found someone her size! :3
That kid is so lucky. And he's probably thinking "OK weird lady just randomly taking a picture with me..."
As some of you might know... I'm big into photography, and this picture just caught my eye lol
Whoever that photographer is (Nacchi? Her manager?) KUDOS TO THEM!
Now that I'm done spazzing about the mass firing graduation, I want to do a post about what I think the 22 girls will be doing in the future.
- Nakazawa Yuko - I can see her acting, mostly because thats all she's been talking about in her blog. Maybe if she leaves UFA she can get married :D
- Abe Natsumi - She's going to keep singing, no doubt.
- Iida Kaori - She'll probably become a full time mommy :3
- Yasuda Kei - With all those instruments she can play, she could do an array of things. I think it'd be really amazing if released solos with not only her singing, but also play instruments in the background (am I making sense? If you've heard of the Mitch Hansen Band, you might know what I'm talking about. Lead vocals - Mitch Hansen, backup vocals - Mitch Hansen, guitar - Mitch Hansen).
- Yaguchi Mari - As much as I hate saying this, I think she's going to stick with TV. I'd die happy if I could see her becoming a soloist, but that sounds unlikely. She did say she hopes to marry at 25, thats how old she is now, so maybe she too will leave UFA and find someone.
- Ishikawa Rika - She and Yossie will focus on Hangry & Angry.
- Yoshizawa Hitomi - ^^^^^ She'll focus on Hangry & Angry
- Tsuji Nozomi - It'd be nice if she became a full time mommy as well, but I suspect she'll find something else. She's so young. But I can't really see what she'll be doing. Go back to school? Blog about parenting?
- Konno Asami - I don't think we'll be hearing about Konkon after the mass graduation. Yes, she has improved her voice since joining Momusu, but its still weak. She's really smart, maybe she'll focus on college like she's been doing. Maybe she could write a book.
- Ogawa Makoto - You know what'd be cool? If she had an English teaching TV show. xDD
- Fujimoto Miki - She'll go back to singing.
- Satoda Mai - She's got Quiz Hexagon and Sapporo Cerbies (is that how you spell it?) to back her up.
- Inaba Atsuko - I hope T&C Bomber will get together, as unlikely as it is, but I've heard whispers of a 10 year anniversary reunion concert.
- Maeda Yuki - I don't know quite what she'll do. Enka, I suppose. She's got a great voice, its a shame we've heard so little of it.
- Melon Kinenbi - I'd like to see them trash the bubblegum pop and work with Avex, possibly doing rock. That'd be cool. I wonder if they even are going to stay together, though.
- Miyoshi Erika - She has a nice voice, but I don't think she'll go solo. Maybe she'll join or even start another group.
- Okada Yui - Model, no doubt.
- Matsuura Aya - She'll keep singing. She had the best voice in H!P, I'd like to see her do Rihanna-style songs, possibly with Avex.
I'm still sad about the news, but its getting easier to handle when I think about it.
Well, not quite the end of Hello!Project, but the end of Elder Club.
On March 31, 2009, all 25 members of Elder Club will graduate from Hello!Project. All of them.
Those members are: Nakazawa Yuko, Abe Natsumi, Iida Kaori, Yasuda Kei, Yaguchi Mari, Ishikawa Rika, Yoshizawa Hitomi, Tsuji Nozomi, Konno Asami, Ogawa Makoto, Fujimoto Miki, Satoda Mai, Inaba Atsuko, Maeda Yuki, Saito Hitomi, Murata Megumi, Outani Masae, Shibata Ayumi, Miyoshi Erika, Okada Yui, Matsuura Aya, Korenaga Miki, Noto Arisa, Sengoku Minami, and Sawada Yuri.
Maybe Tsunku has something up his sleve, who knows. Thankfully they are staying with UFA.
I guess we all saw this coming. As much as we hate to admit it, it was inevitable. With all those Mega Best album's coming out, and no one in EC really doing anything. New IshiYoshi unit Hangry & Angry not being under H!P, but still with UFA was a really big hint that alot of us didn't even think twice about.
Maybe this is just some huge re-organizing thing, or maybe this means that girls like Yaguchi Mari will get to release a solo single. But that still means that H!P will be really small... just Morning Musume, Berryz Kobo, C-ute, and Mano Erina.
We still have some time, more news might come out. Right now the worst thing about this mass graduation is uncertainty.
I'm not going to but on a fake smile and say "Congrats to the girls!" but I'm not going to spend my whole day dwelling on it. I'm going to wait and see.
YesAsia was the only place where I could find this DVD. It was Yaguchi Mari's Mini Moni graduation concert from way back in the beginning of time. It only has a few performances and then interveiws with the members.
<--- Front Cover
Back Cover ---->
The DVD starts with some early footage, and the creation of Mini Moni. This it the "old Mini Moni".
And the "new Mini Moni"! I like old better because my darling Yaguchi is in it <3
Then it shows the line of people waiting to see the concert. They are all little kids and their mothers.
FINALLY! The concert starts with Mini Moni Jankenpyon!
The first MC is rather interesting. See that thing Yaguchi is holding? Its a little camera. And so now we know what the girls see at concerts.
Mini Moni Telephone Ring Ring Ring!
I was watching Mika in this whole performance, because she seemed to have alot of trouble getting out the fake cell phone, make-up compact, and whatever other props are required for this song. To the right you can see her trying to get the compact out of her backpack. Once she does get it out, she abandons the backpack and keeps everything in her pockets for the rest of the performance.
When Minihamuzu comes out, all the kids go wild.
Too cute x3
And during Minihamuzu Ai no Uta they actually get off the stage and into the crowd! Something you would never see at a H!P concert these days. It was really cute actually, Tsuji was playing with some of the kids.
AI~N
Remember these kids? While the girls drank imaginary tea at a table on the other side of the stage, some cosplayers performed Mini Moni dances.
And then its Yaguchi's graduation ceremony =[
Don't cry Mari D'=
Everything was going fine but when one of the fans came up to the stage and started reading a short message to her, the waterworks came on.
She was given two photo albums, probably full of Mini Moni pictures and the message the kid read to her.
And thus the new Mini Moni is born!
But don't forget Yaguchi =3
Another lovely new Mini Moni costume set! Yaguchi doesn't have a matching one though.
Rock n Roll Kenchoushouzaichi ~Obaechai na Series~
Genki Jirushi no Oomori
Now, tell me whats different about the following two pictures:
Yes, thats right, Risako is doing the wrong pose. Now, usually, I wouldn't make such a big deal but I really don't like Risako.
And to end the concert... Gocchin comes onto the stage? Wow. Its just so hard to remember she's with Avex now...
She performs Uwasa no SEXY GUY for a crowd of 4-8 year olds. Woot.
AND LOOK! She has a character too!
And thats really all that was in the DVD, minus a few "character version" PVs and interveiws. Overall, this DVD was definatly worth the $41.
The Hello!Project official website has updated with a new picture of Yaguchi Mari. Her picture hasn't been updated since 2005, so could this be a new single or were they just sick of such an old picture?
Being a huge Yagusan fan, I can't help but get all excited by this. I love how she's looking more like a doll every day now. A solo single from her would be amazing and I'd definatly be the first to buy it!
